Maths for this week - starting 8th February

This week we will begin looking at coordinates and will plot a variety of different 2D shapes in the first quadrant! In this area of maths we will be discussing lots of new vocabulary , such as point of origin, direction, axis, axes, vertical, horizontal and plot - ask your child to explain what these mean!

We shall also be starting our work on 3D shape but will explore this further over the coming weeks.

Maths Homework - due Friday 12th February
Complete p.146 'Plotting Points' and p.68 'Lines and Shapes' to reinforce their understanding of classwork on coordinates and 2D shapes.

Maths Practice this week:
Monday - counting forwards and backwards in 4s, 6s and 8s starting from 0.
Tuesday - Doubling numbers from 0 - 100.
Wednesday - halving numbers from 0 - 100 - watch out for those odd numbers!
Thursday - Number bonds to 100 e.g. 39 + 61, 72 + 28
